Humans are unable to truly prove
anything because we can only see it from one perspective. Even if I hear
someone else speak, I still have to perceive what she is saying. Color blindness is an example of
a different perspective. If we assume that color
blindness is real than how can I prove to a person that the way he sees the
world is a lie. Without technology I would have no way to show him color or my
perspective. He would likely argue that his perspective is correct and that I am
the one that is not seeing the world correctly.

Mina Tankar
Growing up in Manhattan Beach I did not have to fight
to survive. I was able to devote my time to learning and overcoming my inner
demons. I see the world as an interconnected web, but as a child I found it
hard to make sense of the web and communicate my thoughts to others. I also saw
the evil and suffering that fills this world. I developed depression because of
that. I found my solutions to my issues in philosophical stories like the X-Men
comics, history, and science. As I grow up, I began to explore science more and
found a world where my belonged. Science also provided me with a glimpse of how
I could help others deal with the pain in this world. My fascination with
science led me to make my life mission, “Always search for knowledge and better
the world with the knowledge I gain”. The most important things I hope to
better, is the environment. The damage humans do to it must be lessened. I want
to use science, like many others, to find solutions to pollution and other
man-made health risks. I want to work with biologists to learn about genetics
and possibly make organisms that can quicken decomposition and get rid of
harmful toxins.
Yet I also study life to purely learn. I want to help
expand our understanding of how we work. I want to be there to help humanity
answer questions like; how does memory work and how could we create stem cells?
Throughout my search for knowledge I also desire to
find a group I can share life with. I know that the search for knowledge is not
enjoyable if done alone.
